HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

I couldn't let this day pass without saying a little somethin somethin about the most amazing woman in this world. I'm convinced that my Mom is a Superhero and just keeps secrets really well. I've never known a person to do more for others, in any way imaginable: mostly by giving of herself and her time, but also by actually giving money, goods, beds, food, my perfectly nice bike that I still wanted when I l got home from my mission, and the list goes on. If something goes unused for a few weeks than it is given to someone that will use it. This is something that we can all learn from my mom... She is one of the most Christ like people I've ever known and I'm lucky enough to see her weekly and have the chance to talk to her at any time I desire. I love you Mom and hope that you have a wonderful Mother's Day, but more important I hope I along with the rest of us can treat you like it's Mother's Day everyday of our lives, because there is not question that you deserve the best all the time. I love you, Happy Mother's Day. Love, Christopher John

Uno Mas...

Tonight I went to the Jazz game with my amigos Tyler, Rob, and Esteban Nyman. We cheered our little hearts out and after we gave everything we had the Jazz came out on top 86-82. This puts the Jazz in a commanding lead in the series at 3-1, but for some reason I still can't feel at peace about the whole thing. The way we've been playing isn't usual Jazz basketball and it seems that we've been getting some of these wins with a little bit of the Irish luck on our side. Don't get me wrong, I love the Irish luck to be on our side, but we're talking the Houston Rockets... we should be dominating them with no problems. Oh well, the NBA is strong and every team is going to put up a fight, so we should just be glad we're at the point that we're at. We play game 5 in Houston on next Tuesday and if my predictions are right we will be finishing the series that night.... please, for the love of all that's good, let me be right. Go Jazz, and remember I'll be by your sides the entire way to the championship!!!

ps. Maybe we should get some of the guys out practicing a few free-throws and most especially is somebody needs to pop Boozer up side the head and tell him to go to the whole because nobody on the Rockets can come close to stopping him when he is going to the whole strong... My preaching is over, I just hope it makes it to those who have control over what takes place in practice. GO JAZZ!!!!

Garbage Island...

This is the first of several episodes on trash, especially plastics, in the ocean. It comes from vbs.tv, which is one of the most insightful and educating websites that I've come across. Granted it's not edited for the people of Utah, you must look past the occasional cuss word or obscenity and focus in on the topic on hand. This particular series is the most recent series I've been following on vbs.tv and I find it to be quite compelling and makes me want to do better myself to escape our addiction to plastic and when impossible to do that, at least recycle so it doesn't end up in this "Garbage Island" in the middle of our oceans. I really don't think anyone looks at my blog but if someone happens upon this please watch this series and let me know what you think about it. I know if you watch it you will be shocked and that it will cause you to feel that we must all do better to detach from plastic addiction.
One more thing... If you haven't heard of vbs.tv I would recommend checking it out and watching some of the series. If you want any suggestions on some of my favorites than just let me know and I'll get back to ya. Peace and recycle!!!

The Playoffs are here...

The Jazz just put together an old fashioned whoopin on the Houston Rockets in game 1 of the playoffs. This doesn't really come as much of a surprise, but I was still giddy as can be as I watched the Jazz play beautiful ball. D Will is my hero!!! He is the Jazz. I'm not discrediting Boozer, Memo, AK or any of the other guys, but DW is the one who controls the game and leads the team to victory. Props do D Will... I'll be wearing your college jersey to the first home playoff game, so if you happen to read my blog be looking for me in the bright orange, Fighting Illini, jersey.
I also gotta throw in a few words about Kyle Korver. A good friend of mine happens to be dating him at the time and from this I've ended up meeting him a few times and actually had dinner with him just the other night. First and foremost, he is such a good, humble, nice guy, and on top of that he is the missing link the Jazz have been needing. We all know that since we got him we have the best record in the league and whenever he scores over 10 points we've only lost twice. Good stuff if you ask me. Giricek for Korver was one of the all time greatest steals in the history of the NBA, and I'm just happy the Jazz are the ones who got the steal.

That's enough of me going off about the Jazz, because I could do it all night no problem. All I can say to finish this post up is that I agree with the great espn.com columnist, John Hollinger, in that the Jazz are the favorites to come out of the West... Yeeeaaahhhhhh!!! Where I have to disagree with him is that the Jazz will beat Boston in a 6 game grinder to bring the first title back to Utah. Ahhhh such beautiful words to my ears. Go Jazz

How about them Utah Jazz

Utah Jazz, originally uploaded by prost_90210.

I was at the game last night when the Jazz dominated the Houston Rockets...The game was over by the second quarter. Now if we have home court or not in the first round is in our hands, all we have to do is win a game in San Antonio which we haven't done in years. I think it is time to end the losing streak and pick up a win in San Antonio. In the long run I'm really not too worried weather the Jazz get home court advantage or not. We are playing so well right now that I'm confident that we'll get some wins on the road, than we'll come home and we all know what the Jazz do at home....WIN!!! It's been an awesome season for us Jazz fans and I have a gut feeling it's only gonna get better and better. I agree with all sport's casters that the Jazz are the team to watch in the West or that they are the black horse that are going to knock off some big teams. I'm gonna make a prediction, or should I say tell my dream.... NBA championship, here we come!

Festival of Colors

This pictures is when Rob decided to blow an entire hand full of green powder into my eye. I actually couldn't see at the moment and thought I'd take a picture so I could remember my eye, just in case it decided not to start working again. Thanks Rob, I love you too.
This was the highlight of the whole "Festival of Colors" for me. I sat down next to this beautiful woman who's name is Pujo and started talking to her and asking questions about everything around me and about the festival that was taking place. Pretty soon my buddy Rob joined in, and a minute later Brian and is amiga joined us as well. We sat in a circle an listened to Pujo who taught us all about the festival and about the core beliefs of the Hare Krishna. Rob and I went to this wanting to be as respectful as we could to those who really believe and it turned out that we were some of only a few who wanted to do the same. For the most part everyone there was out of control and disrespecting the sacred festival of these people. Pujo was wonderful though. She is originally from India but now lives in Denver with her husband. She kept telling us how lucky we were to live so close to this temple, I guess it is a very special temple to the Hare Krishna all over the world. If you look close, Pujo's fingers and toes were painted red. That was to do certain signs and formations that represented things sacred to them. Pujo and being with my friends was by far the highlight of the entire event.
Just another picture of Rob and me standing in front of the temple. This is obviously still early in the event because we are still pretty clean. It only took a few short minutes after this picture was taken to be completely covered and blend in with the other ten thousand people that were there. This is the whole purpose of the colored powder... it takes all the differences that we all have as humans and covers them up creating a sense of "oneness" and unity. Pretty cool... After being here for a few hours and talking with the people, especially Pujo from the picture above, it is hard not to love a faith that promotes so much love, peace, oneness, etc. Everything about it is good. Where I start to have problems is when they meditate to the different statues and so forth. That's right where I stop... All in all we had so much fun and ended up having an amazing experience with the people and learning about their ways of life. Who would've thought that in Spanish Fork, Utah I'd be going to a Hare Krishna festival such as this. Crazy

We don't see what we're not looking for!!!

Awareness Test - Watch more free videos

Good Stuff eh? This was a little eye opener for me to try and pay more attention to everything around me, and not just focus on one thing. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be so lucky to see bears moon walking down main street!
