Good Stuff eh? This was a little eye opener for me to try and pay more attention to everything around me, and not just focus on one thing. Who knows, maybe one day I'll be so lucky to see bears moon walking down main street!

Starting Over!!!

Well, I've had this blog for a couple years now but haven't been on it for close to a year, so I decided that the best way to get back into it would be to erase everything that was previously on here and start all over. So here is my first new post and I thought I'd throw in a picture of myself to make it "my blog". This picture was taken in a small town in Guatemala about an hour south of Guatemala City called, Antigua. It is a beautiful little town that is European in every sence. It is a tourist hub for travelers, which makes it a really cool place to hang out and meet great people from all walks of life. I stayed in Antigua for 3 days on my own and had a wonderful time. I stayed in a hostel where my room was just big enough for a twin bed, which meant I slept on one half and my bags took up the other half. It's something that doesn't sound that great but when you're there in the moment it seems great and is just part of the whole experience of being in Central and South America. A funny memory of this place for me is the local Burger King in Antigua. Prior to coming to this town I spent close to 3 weeks in the middle of Guatemala with a couple of close friends. We really were in the most indigenous places that I'd ever seen doing a couple service projects for the Kech'i Indians. So for this entire time we lived off of corn tortillas and sometimes black beans. It was ok for the first few days but after that it became gross and I started to eat just a few bites a day just so I could get by. So this is all I ate prior to coming to Antigua where they had a Burger King. Normally I would avoid eating at BK at all costs but my first morning in Antigua I ran straight to the BK and stuffed myself with breakfast sandwiches and hash browns. It was like mana from heaven and I went on to eat there 5 times in the three days I was there. It tasted just as good every time and I now have a soft spot for the BK in Antigua, Guatemala for giving me something other than corn tortillas to eat.
